Reverse description Forepart of a bridled horse rendered in energetic motion, lunging to the right with forelegs raised, the bridle clearly delineated in fine relief. The design is fully contained within a recessed incuse square, with the ethnic legend of Skotoussa distributed across the field. The bold, compact style is characteristic of mid-fifth century BC Thessalian coinage.
