Obverse description Draped bust of Artemis facing right, her hair elaborately arranged and secured beneath a stephane or polos adorned with pellets along the upper edge, with loose curling locks falling to the neck. She wears a prominent hoop earring and a necklace, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with naturalistic modelling of the facial features. The bust is depicted with a draped garment falling across the lower field, consistent with representations of Artemis as the principal deity venerated at Bargylia.
