Obverse description Facing head of Helios, the sun god, turned slightly to the right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair radiating outward from the crown in loose, wind-swept locks. The face displays the characteristic idealized Rhodian style, with softly modeled features, almond-shaped eyes, and slightly parted lips. The hair is bound with a taenia or stephane, partially obscured by the flowing locks. The field is plain, with the design filling the flan to its edges, consistent with the compact format of the hemidrachm denomination.
