| Obverse description | Bearded head of Heracles facing left, clad in the scalp of the Nemean lion, the open jaws and mane of which frame the hero's face in high relief. The facial features are rendered with careful archaizing detail, including a prominent beard rendered in fine striated curls at the chin. The lion's scalp is depicted with the ears and crown of the beast clearly articulated above the hero's brow, consistent with the distinctive Herakleian iconographic tradition. |
