| Reverse description | Large incuse square containing a prominent raised letter delta (Δ) in the center, serving as the principal type. Surrounding the delta, the civic ethnic ΑΡ (abbreviation for Argos) is distributed within the four quadrants of the incuse square, along with additional letters of a magistrate's name. A small six-petaled floral or star ornament appears in the lower left quadrant. The entire design is set within a shallow incuse square with a granular or stippled surface. |

| Additional information |
Argos struck these small silver fractions continuously through the Hellenistic period despite the city's diminishing political relevance following Macedonian dominance in the Peloponnese. The long production window — roughly 80 years — means attribution to a specific decade within the series depends almost entirely on stylistic analysis of the wolf's head die work, which deteriorates noticeably in later emissions. SNG Copenhagen 49 anchors the earlier, crisper phase of the type.
