| Obverse description | Head of a male figure facing right, rendered in archaic Greek style with roughly modelled facial features including a prominent eye and flowing hair or headdress visible above the brow. The portrait is set against a plain, unadorned field with no surrounding legend. The flan is irregular and slightly oval in form, characteristic of hand-struck Carian coinage of the fourth century BC. The die work is bold but shows the primitive engraving typical of smaller regional mints in ancient Caria. |

| Reverse description | Within a shallow incuse square, a kantharos (two-handled wine vessel) is depicted prominently at centre, flanked on the left by a bunch of grapes and on the right by a bird, possibly a cock, facing left. The composition fills the incuse punch with characteristic simplicity of Carian civic coinage. The Greek ethnic inscription Σ-YA, an abbreviation for the city of Syangela, appears divided on either side of the central devices. The overall style is archaic and the relief is relatively low, consistent with fourth-century BC Carian silver coinage. |
