| Obverse description | Forepart of a lion facing right in high relief, the head dramatically turned back to the left in a characteristic retrospective pose. The mane is rendered with fine engraved striations, conveying a sense of wild naturalism consistent with the Thracian Chersonese civic coinage tradition. The muscular forequarters and raised paw are boldly modeled against the smooth field, with a beaded border visible along the lower rim. The composition is dynamic and vigorous, typical of the accomplished die-cutting associated with this prolific series. |

| Reverse description | Quadripartite incuse square divided into four equal quarters, alternating between raised (granulated) and sunken (plain) sections in a windmill or pinwheel arrangement. In one of the sunken quarters, a pentagram is depicted above a pellet; in the diagonally opposite sunken quarter, a retrograde letter K appears beside a pellet. These quarter-marks served as control symbols to identify individual issues within the extensive Chersonese hemidrachm series. The overall reverse design follows the archaic incuse technique standard for this coinage. |
