Obverse description The hero Thessalos strides vigorously to the right, his petasos suspended by a cord about his neck. He grasps a restraining band with both hands, looped around the head of a forepart of a bull also moving to the right, conveying the dynamic struggle between man and animal characteristic of Thessalian coinage of this period.

Reverse description Forepart of a bridled horse advancing to the right within an incuse square, the rein falling diagonally downward across the animal's torso.
