| Reverse description | An eagle displayed with wings spread wide, standing facing right with head turned sharply to the left, the sacred bird of Zeus rendered in a bold, compact style typical of Elean coinage of the period. The powerful wings are raised and fully extended, framing the body of the bird, while the talons grip the ground line firmly. The musculature of the wings and body is indicated by incuse lines of varying depth. The reverse field is otherwise blank, with no inscription or exergual marking, consistent with the aniconic tradition of Olympian federal coinage. |
