Reverse description A standalone fire altar rendered in schematic Sasanian style, depicted frontally with a stepped base and flame rising from the altar top. Flanking elements, typical of Sasanian fire altar reverses, appear on either side of the altar shaft. The design fills the central field of the irregular flan, with no attendant figures present, as is consistent with this small fractional denomination. The relief is worn but the essential architectural form of the altar remains discernible.
