Obverse description Central field dominated by a large crowned Gothic monogram 'R' for Rudolf (Rudolph II), surmounted by a royal crown with elaborate fleurs. The date 1593 is divided across the field, with '15' to the left and '93' to the right of the monogram. Small heraldic lion passant appears at the upper right, flanking the crown. The overall design is rendered in the late Gothic hammered style typical of Bohemian minor coinage of the period, with the irregular flan exhibiting characteristic die-struck weakness at the periphery.
