| Obverse description | A crab depicted in high relief, shown frontally with its carapace prominently rendered and both claws raised and extended outward in an assertive posture. Positioned above the crab, partially overlapping its dorsal surface, is the head of a tunny fish facing right, rendered in characteristic Kyzikene style. The tunny, the civic emblem of Kyzikos, serves as a type-identifying device consistent across the hekte series. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, with the devices occupying nearly the full coin surface. No legend or inscription is present, the design relying entirely on symbolic imagery. |
