| Obverse description | Forepart of a winged lion to the left in high relief, rendered in a vigorous archaic style characteristic of Kyzikene electrum coinage. The creature is depicted with prominent outstretched forelegs, detailed musculature, and naturalistic feathered wings swept back along the body. The mane is rendered with fine incised striations, and the facial features are boldly modelled. The design occupies the full flan, with no legend or inscription, set against a plain field on the irregularly shaped electrum blank. |
