| Obverse description | A nude male figure, rendered in vigorous archaic style, kneels in the so-called 'running-kneeling' posture facing right, with the body depicted in three-quarter view showing muscular detail. The figure holds a tunny fish (tuna) in his extended right hand, a characteristic civic emblem of Kyzikos, while the left arm is bent at the elbow. The design fills the irregularly shaped flan with bold, high-relief workmanship typical of early Kyzikene electrum coinage. No inscription or legend appears in the field. |
