| Obverse description | Youthful laureate head of Apollo facing left, rendered in fine archaic-to-early classical style with delicately modeled facial features, curling locks of hair escaping beneath the laurel wreath, and a small earring visible at the lobe. The portrait fills the flan with considerable artistic refinement, characteristic of the high-quality Phocaean electrum coinage. A small seal, the civic badge of Phokaia, appears in the lower field to the left of the neck truncation. |

| Reverse description | Quadripartite incuse square occupying the full reverse field, divided into four recessed compartments by a raised cross formed by the intersection of two perpendicular raised ridges, creating alternating sunken and slightly raised sections. This type of mill-sail or wind-mill incuse pattern is characteristic of the later Phocaean electrum hekte series. The incuse is deeply struck and irregular in outline, consistent with hand-hammered technique. |
