| Obverse description | A youthful male figure, rendered in the archaic style, kneeling to the right upon a tunny fish — the civic emblem of Kyzikos — which occupies the lower field. The figure wears a tainia adorned with a frontal spike and is depicted in dynamic posture, grasping a sacrificial knife in his raised right hand while supporting a second tunny with his left. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of early Kyzikene electrum coinage, with no legend or inscription in the field. |
