| Obverse description | A griffin passant to the left occupies the central field, rendered in archaic relief with characteristic leonine hindquarters and avian forequarters. Beneath the griffin, a tunny fish swims to the left, serving as the civic badge of Kyzikos and a standard auxiliary device on its electrum coinage. The figures are presented in profile within an irregularly shaped flan, typical of the hammered electrum hektes of this mint. The relief is bold and well-articulated, reflecting the accomplished die-cutting tradition of late Archaic Kyzikene coinage. |

| Reverse description | A quadripartite incuse square dominates the reverse, divided into four recessed compartments of roughly equal size by raised ridges intersecting at the centre. The incuse is deeply struck and irregular in outline, consistent with the early hammered technique employed at Kyzikos during the late Archaic period. The surface of the incuse panels shows the characteristic granular texture resulting from the punch strike. No legends or subsidiary devices are present. |
