| Obverse description | A forepart of a kneeling lion facing left, rendered in fine archaic relief, occupying the central field of the flan. The lion's musculature is boldly articulated, with its forepaws extended and head turned slightly downward. A tunny fish, the civic emblem of Kyzikos, is depicted beneath the lion in the lower field. Two additional tunny fish appear as subsidiary symbols flanking the main device, consistent with the iconographic convention of Kyzikene electrum coinage. The design is set on an irregular, naturally shaped flan characteristic of early Greek hammered coinage. |

| Reverse description | A quadripartite incuse square divided into four recessed compartments by a raised cross, executed in the standard Archaic Greek punch technique. The four quadrants are deeply impressed and show a slightly irregular surface texture resulting from the hammered manufacture. The incuse design is characteristic of early Greek coinage from western Asia Minor, serving as the functional counterpart to the obverse device. No inscription or additional symbol is present. The overall impression is bold and well-centred on the irregular electrum flan. |
