Obverse description Head of a seal (phoke) depicted in left profile, rendered in archaic Greek style with bold, naturalistic relief. The eye is prominently rendered as a large concentric circle with a raised central boss. A second, smaller seal head appears below the main device, also facing left, serving as the characteristic secondary symbol of Phokaia. The flan surface is irregularly shaped, typical of early Archaic electrum coinage, with the design occupying most of the available field.
