| Obverse description | Head of a griffin facing left in high relief, depicted in archaic Ionic style with a beaded collar or necklace rendered as a row of pellets along the jaw and neck. The creature's prominent beak curves sharply downward, and a knob or protuberance is visible atop the skull, characteristic of Phokaian griffin iconography. The surface of the flan exhibits the warm golden hue typical of electrum alloy. No legend or inscription is present, the design filling the entire obverse field. |
