| Obverse description | Head of Athena facing right, wearing an Attic helmet adorned with a crest and decorative details, rendered in fine archaic-to-early classical style. The hair falls in loose locks beneath the helmet, and the facial features are delicately modeled with a naturalistic profile. The field is smooth and unlettered, with no inscription present. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck electrum coinage of the Lesbian mint. The engraving exhibits high artistic quality characteristic of Mytilene hektai of this period. |
