Obverse description Facing left, the youthful head of a nymph rendered in fine archaic Greek style, her hair drawn back and secured beneath a sakkos (hair net), with loose strands visible above the forehead. A small upright seal device appears in the right field, serving as the characteristic civic emblem of Phokaia. The portrait displays delicate facial features with a pronounced eye and refined contour typical of Ionian electrum coinage of the fifth century BC.
