| Obverse description | The obverse features the elaborate imperial tughra of Sultan Mahmud II prominently displayed in the central field within a circular cartouche, rendered in the refined calligraphic style characteristic of early 19th-century Ottoman coinage. Flanking the central tughra cartouche are two smaller oval cartouches at left and right, each containing Arabic inscriptions, while a third oval cartouche at the top bears the word 'سلاطين' (Sultans). The field is further adorned with symmetrical floral and foliate spray ornaments extending from behind the cartouches, lending an elegant decorative quality to the composition. The entire design is enclosed within a milled border of fine beading. |
