Obverse description The obverse presents a highly detailed relief cartographic rendering of the near (Earth-facing) side of the Moon, filling the entire field to the rim. Prominent lunar maria are depicted as darkened, textured expanses contrasting against the raised, lighter-toned highland regions and crater rims. A large rayed impact crater is visible in the lower right quadrant, its ejecta rays radiating dramatically across the field. The surface topography is rendered with exceptional sculptural depth, conveying the rugged, cratered terrain of the lunar nearside. No legend, inscription, or exergue is present.

Reverse description The reverse depicts a detailed relief rendering of the far (permanently Earth-hidden) side of the Moon, occupying the entire field. The surface is dominated by a densely cratered highland terrain, with numerous impact craters of varying sizes rendered in fine sculptural relief, their rims and interiors clearly delineated against a darkened field. The absence of large maria gives the composition a uniformly rugged and heavily pockmarked appearance, distinguishing it markedly from the obverse. Several large circular impact basins are visible, particularly in the upper left quadrant. No legend, inscription, or exergue appears on this face.
