Reverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the denomination 'HALF PENY' is inscribed across three horizontal lines in the field, a format typical of English seventeenth-century trade tokens. A surrounding legend in Roman capitals records the place of issue and the date. A sexfoil (six-leaved rose) mintmark punctuates the legend, consistent with that found on the obverse.
