Reverse description A warrior depicted standing en face, occupying the full field of the irregular flan. Two distinct varieties are recorded: in one, the warrior holds a spear in his right hand and a shield in his left; in the other, the warrior's arms are bent, holding a sword in the right hand and a shield in the left, with three dots below each arm. The figure is rendered in the schematic, linear style characteristic of early Muscovite hammered coinage, with no surrounding legend or border on this side.
