| Obverse description | Facing confronted busts of Emperor Francis I of Austria and Empress Maria Theresa in high relief, he in armour and laureate wig facing right, she in décolleté dress with pearl earring facing left. The legend arching around the upper field names both rulers, while a two-line inscription in the lower exergue records their respective birth dates in Roman numerals. |
