| Obverse description | Draped bust of Augustus III (Friedrich August II, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland) facing right, wearing armour with an elaborate lace cravat and a long flowing wig rendered in fine relief. The effigy is bold and high-relief, executed in the Baroque court style characteristic of Dresden coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading D G FRID AUGUST REX POLONIARUM. The coin's rim is defined by a continuous beaded border. |

The denomination 2/3 is prominently placed in the exergual area between the shields, with the mintmaster's initials F.W.O.F. below. A circular Latin legend surrounding the composition reads DUX SAX I C M A & W S R I ARCH & EL, with the date 1738 incorporated into the legend. The rim is bordered by a fine milled edge. |
