Obverse description Draped bust of Augustus II the Strong (Elector of Saxony and King of Poland) facing right, with long flowing wig in the baroque style. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy within a beaded border. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detail to the drapery and curled periwig.

Reverse description Central field displays a crowned royal AR monogram (cypher of Augustus Rex) with the date 1708 flanked on either side of the monogram. A small orb or mint mark device appears below the monogram. The surrounding Latin legend runs within a beaded border, with the entire design characteristic of Saxon baroque engraving.
