Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Augustus II (the Strong), Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, laureate and wearing armor with an ornate mantle visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief with finely detailed flowing hair and elaborate drapery typical of early 18th-century baroque portraiture. The circular Latin legend reads AUGUSTUS D·G·REX ET ELECTOR around the periphery, separated from the bust by an inner beaded border. The overall composition follows the standard electoral-royal portrait convention of the Dresden mint of the period.
