Obverse description Armored bust of Emperor Ferdinand I facing right, wearing an elaborate crown and a draped mantle over armor, holding an orb marked with the value '60' in the right field. The bust is rendered in high relief in a robust Renaissance style. A beaded inner circle frames the effigy, with a continuous Latin legend surrounding it reading FERD·D·G·RO·BO·HVNG· and continuing around the full circumference. The lettering is separated by small cross or annulet stops.

Reverse description Double-headed imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread, bearing the quartered Habsburg arms on its breast within a shield. The date appears in the upper field flanking a small orb or cross between the two eagle heads. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the design within a beaded border, reading INF·HIS·ARCHI·D·AVST·BVRG·, referencing Ferdinand's full royal and archducal titles. The engraving is characteristic of mid-sixteenth-century Joachimsthal mint workmanship.
