Reverse description A guardant lion passant guardant, crowned with a royal crown, stands atop a large St. Edward's Crown occupying the lower half of the field; the crown is richly detailed with fleurs-de-lis, crosses pattée, and pearl beading. The date 1776 is divided to either side of the lion at the top of the field, flanked by the circumferential Latin legend MAG·BRI·FR·ET·HIB·REX· reading around the periphery, separated by pellets.
