Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, engraved in the neoclassical style by Lewis Pingo, with a laurel wreath tied at the back of the head. The effigy occupies the central field, with the truncation of the neck falling cleanly at the lower portion of the flan. The Latin legend GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA curves along the upper periphery, separated from the portrait by the milled border. The coin exhibits a fine inner toothed border encircling the design.
