Obverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of Brabant, Limburg, Luxembourg, and Bohemia, enclosed within a decorative polylobed border. The circumferential legend in Latin uncial script reads the joint ducal titles of Wenceslaus and Johanna, rulers of Brabant. The heraldic composition is rendered in the Gothic style characteristic of late 14th-century Low Countries coinage. The shield is positioned prominently in the coin field, flanked by the lobed cusps of the inner border.
