| Reverse description | The quartered Burgundy composite shield — comprising fleurs-de-lis for France, bendy of the Duchy of Burgundy, the lion of Flanders, and the bend of the County of Burgundy — is superimposed upon a long cross pattée that extends to the inner legend border, dividing the circumferential inscription into four sections. The shield is rendered in crisp Gothic heraldic style with fine internal detail visible in the hammered gold flan. Uncial Latin lettering forming the ruler's titulature fills the surrounding legend, separated by annulet stops. |
