Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of Sigismund III Vasa facing right, wearing a ruff collar and royal crown, with a short beard rendered in fine detail. The effigy is depicted in a late Renaissance portrait style characteristic of early 17th-century Polish coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait. The circular Latin legend reads SIGIS·M·D·G·REX·POL·M·DL, identifying the king as Sigismund, by the Grace of God King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania.
