Obverse description Central field displays the Florentine lily (giglio), the civic heraldic emblem of Florence, rendered in high relief with characteristic curling foliage and scrollwork flanking the stem on either side. The lily rises from a small base, with acanthus-like decorative elements filling the lower field. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the circular Latin legend distributed around the periphery reading FLORENTIA. The hammered flan is irregular in shape, typical of late medieval Florentine silver coinage.
