Obverse description Half-length effigy of a bishop in left profile, depicted in episcopal vestments. The right hand is raised in the gesture of benediction, while the left hand holds a crozier. The figure is rendered in the stylised Romanesque manner typical of northern Italian ecclesiastical coinage of the mid-thirteenth century. The surrounding legend, separated from the field by a beaded inner circle, reads ✠ • EPS • TRIDENTI •, identifying the issuing authority as the Bishopric of Trento.
