Additional information

John of Bohemia's lordship over Parma was characteristically opportunistic — he acquired the city in 1331 as part of his restless Italian campaigns, collecting signorie the way other rulers collected debts. He held it for four years before losing interest and moving on, leaving behind a thin documentary record and an equally thin coinage. This grosso is among the few tangible artifacts of that administration.
