Obverse description Papal coat of arms of Benedict XIII centered in the field, consisting of a quartered shield displaying the Orsini family heraldic devices, surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed keys of Saint Peter. The shield is flanked by elaborate foliate and scroll ornamentation. The encircling Latin legend reads BENED • XIII P•M•AN•III, denoting Benedict XIII, Pontifex Maximus, in the third year of his pontificate. A fine milled border runs along the coin's periphery.
