Obverse description Central field features a cross pattée enclosed within a plain inner circle. The surrounding legend, interrupted by six-pointed stars, reads DE ARITIO, referencing the city of Arezzo, with a mitre symbol incorporated into the inscription. The flan is irregularly shaped and slightly convex, typical of hammered billon coinage of the period. The die engraving is bold but shows characteristic medieval stylization in the cross arms.
