Obverse description Central field displays the crowned Hungarian arms — a quartered shield combining the Árpád stripes and the patriarchal double cross on a mount — surmounted by a royal crown. The mint mark letters flanking the shield (K-B or N-B depending on issue) identify the striking facility. A circular beaded or rope border encloses the design, with the royal legend running along the outer rim in Latin capital letters.
