| Obverse description | A quartered shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Basel divides the last two digits of the date (9-5) within an inner circle. The four quarters display the bishop's heraldic charges, including a crowned lion and a rooster among other devices. The surrounding legend in Latin reads the abbreviated name and title of the issuing bishop, Jakob Christoph Blarer von Wartensee, Bishop of Basel. The inscription is separated by pellets and decorative stops, and a floral ornament appears within the legend. |

| Reverse description | A displayed double-headed imperial eagle dominates the field, each head surmounted by a separate crown with an additional arch crown above uniting them at center. An orb bearing the numeral value is placed on the eagle's breast within a roundel. The surrounding legend in Latin references Emperor Rudolf II, styled as Roman Emperor and perpetual Augustus. The inscription is separated by cross stops arranged around the periphery of the coin. |
