Obverse description Central field features a plain cross within a raised inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters. The cross is rendered in the Gothic style typical of Plantagenet feudal coinage. Surrounding the inner circle, the outer legend is inscribed in uncial Latin characters and separated by rosette stops. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and uneven strike of mid-14th century hammered silver production.
