Obverse description Enthroned frontal figure of Pope Clement VII in full pontifical vestments, wearing the papal tiara and holding a papal cross-staff in his right hand and a book or orb in his left; the figure is rendered in high relief in the Gothic style typical of Avignonese coinage. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with a stylized foliate cross ornament visible at upper right within the field. The surrounding legend, reading clockwise in Gothic lettering, identifies the issuer as Pope Clemens VII.
