| Reverse description | The reverse features an ornate floriated triple cross whose arms extend to the legend, with each quadrant bearing a trefoil ornament at the angles. At the center of the cross a small alerion — the heraldic eagle without beak or feet, the distinctive charge of the arms of Lorraine — is prominently placed. The four arches formed by the cross arms curve inward toward the center, creating an elegant Gothic decorative arrangement. The surrounding legend mOnE TA:FC A:In:n AnCEY, in Gothic lettering, identifies this as a coin struck at Nancy. The overall composition is consistent with standard Lotharingian groschen typology of the period. |
