Obverse description Central field displays a crowned and helmeted coat of arms of Savoy, rendered in a late Gothic heraldic style, with the helm surmounted by an elaborate crest consisting of a stag's head with spreading antlers. The shield is quartered with the arms of Savoy and additional dynastic quarters. A circular Latin legend in uncial characters surrounds the device within a beaded inner border.

Reverse description Full-length frontal figure of Saint Maurice, the patron saint of Savoy, standing in armour on a stepped plinth, depicted in a hieratic Gothic manner. A nimbus encircles the saint's head, and a circular Latin legend in uncial characters surrounds the figure within a beaded border.
