Reverse description A small Silesian eagle displayed in the upper field, with its wings spread, flanked on either side by the date '1597'. Below the eagle, the mint and monetary legend is arranged in four lines across the field, reading MON:NOV / AR.TRI.CR / DUC TES / .III., indicating this is a new silver triple-crown groschen of the Duchy of Teschen. The layout is characteristic of the Groschen coinage of Silesian duchies in the late sixteenth century.
