| Obverse description | Crowned and draped bust of Ferdinand I facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and richly ornamented mantle, set within a beaded inner circle. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic late-Renaissance hammered style, with fine detailing on the crown and garments. The surrounding legend in Latin reads FERDI D G RO VNG BO DA CR ZC REX, abbreviating his royal titles as King of the Romans, Hungary, Bohemia, Dalmatia, Croatia, and so forth. The legend is divided by pellet stops and runs continuously around the outer margin of the coin. |
