Obverse description Central field bears the Zürich coat of arms — a per pale shield divided diagonally, surmounted by an open crown — rendered in relief within a plain inner circle. The date appears divided within the circular Latin legend reading MON • NO • TVRICENSIS, with a cross pattée as initial mark. The lettering is set between two beaded borders, typical of mid-16th century Swiss hammered coinage.
